KB Event has unveiled a new London depot in Wandsworth. Working in partnership with Glen Rowe and SW19 Studios, the space will provide a local and time-critical transport service, not only to SW19 clients, but to KB Event’s London client list.

Speaking about the new site, a satellite to the SW19 Studios, KB Event Managing Director, Richard Burnett, said: “KB Event were on the verge of opening a new depot in Wembley when the pandemic hit. COVID-19 instantly put pay to the venture at the time, but it has always remained high on our list of priorities. KB & Glen Rowe’s relationship goes back years, so when Glen reached out with an opportunity to set up in Wandsworth earlier this year it was simply too good an opportunity to miss. We have so many London clients that require urgent jobs in and around London. Opening our site here means we can react quickly and in a far more cost-effective way.”

Rowe added: “I remember the first time I used KB Event and I called Stuart to say he had the greatest driver I had ever encountered! The driver was hilarious and kept spirits high. In fact, the crew would say that they actually looked forward to load-ins and -outs, which had never happened before. Since then, I always recommend KB as I wholeheartedly think they are the best in breed. The whole team is totally committed – from the bottom to the top. When we opened SW19 studios there was only one trucking company we wanted to join our family. KB Event and SW19 are totally similar in ambition and outlook to the live events industry.”

As well as basing a fleet of rigids at the new depot, KB will also be investing in electric sprinter vans to drive their green credentials even harder. “We couldn’t be more excited about working with Glen and his team to get this off the ground,” said Burnett. “With the addition of Sylvia Roberts to the KB team – who will be overseeing the depot’s business development and who has an extensive production background –  our new depot, and those behind it, couldn’t present a more formidable way to re-establish our southern operation.”
